There is a narrative to each of our lives and every story is unique. Sometimes beautiful. Sometimes tragic. Sometimes, somehow, both at the same time. I believe in the power of stories and their ability to both shape our lives and be shaped by our lives.

My story is not typical of most counselors. Imagine a tragic comedy mashed together with an epic poem. Sort of a Merchant of Venice meets the Odyssey. Maybe that’s a stretch. Odysseus and I don’t seem to have much in common other than a long, wandering, homecoming.

In my story there is drama and sadness, drug addiction and alcoholism, crime and punishment, both the sacred and the profane. There is also humor. Always humor.

Maybe the prodigal son is a better example. I guess one day I just decided the pig business wasn’t for me.

I work with adults and adolescents in individual psychotherapy, specializing in trauma, substance abuse, and angry, aggressive, or violent tendencies.

I currently see clients at Legacy Changers Counseling Center, a division of The Legacy Consortium in Hiram, GA, and at Essential Concepts, Inc., a private practice in Kennesaw, GA.
